We at Planet Connections have always worked to draw attention to social justice issues because art can be a force for change. Planet Connections was founded in 2008 to give activist artists a creative home and a place to be heard. Throughout the years we have championed over 300 different social justice organizations by having our writers, actors, directors, designers, stage managers and staff, draw attention to the social justice issues of our time. Planet Connections continues to be committed to standing with black lives and to providing inclusive spaces for all our artists. Our doors are always open, and we encourage you to come forward into a discussion with us, so that we can do even more to contribute as allies. We are with you now, as we always have been.

MISSION

Planet Connections Festivity is designed to invoke the power of art in motivating philanthropy, community outreach and social change. Within the Festivity, there have been multiple theater, film and music festivals. Planet Connections’ artists use their work to shed light on the causes that matter, while inspiring audiences to get involved. All of our artists raise awareness for an organization/topic of their own selection.  We were also the country’s first eco-friendly theater arts festivity as all our artists work to create eco-conscious art by revising their marketing, design and rehearsal techniques. Planet Connections artists are introduced to a community of like-minded theater makers, film makers and music makers.   The relationships formed during the festivity allow our artists to find new audiences and forge new partnerships.

Since its inception, Planet Connections has presented 237 Full Theater Productions and 89 Staged Readings. 300 charities have benefited from Planet Connections Artists.

Planet Connections has been featured on the Sundance Channel, NY1, and in The New York Times amongst other renowned media outlets.
