Kidnap-Road

Benefiting: Girls Scounts of NYC

Written by: Catherine Filloux
Directed by: Stan Cahill

Kidnap Road is a play by award-winning playwright Catherine Filloux, directed by Stan Cahill, starring Kimber Riddle and Steve Guevara. Filloux received her graduate degree from the Dramatic Writing Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and Cahill, Riddle and Guevara are all graduates of New York University’s Tisch Graduate Acting Program. The artistic team plans to bring the play to Edinburgh in 2016. Details of Ingrid Betancourt’s story can be found in the public record. This story is imagined as a two-person play based in part on those events. Kidnap Road is a poetic drama about a woman’s political choice, the trauma of survival and what memory will come to hold. The piece dramatizes the complex aspects and meaning of being held hostage.
