Amada is excited and happy to be continuing her involvement with Planet Connections Festivity for the fourth year in a row! She has worked for Planet Connections as the web developer in the past & for the past two seasons held the title as Special Events/Lounge Coordinator. This year returning to her roots so she may pursue her other passions! She holds her Bachelors in Music and double major in Theatre from the University of Miami.
As an artist, she has worked as an actress, singer, dancer, director, lyricist, stage manager, website designer, tour guide, and special events organizer. She is the current organizer/director for a non profit organization going into it’s 4th year called Thrill The World NYC, Thrill The World is a special event that teaches Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” for world records and for charity. They successfully organize worldwide events to have thousands of zombie participants dance while raising awareness and money for various charities.
As an actress/singer, she has over 40 stage credits from 30+ theatres including a touring production of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” in the U.K. Amada made her NYC debut in 2009 as Lenny (Rockaway Theatre Company) in “Crimes of the Heart” and was most recently seen in “Alba” directed by Glory Kadigan as part of the Planet Connections Artist’s Grant at The Gene Frankel Theater. In 2010 she won “outstanding supporting actress in a play” in Planet Connections Theater Festivity Award Ceremony for her role as Darcie in Andrew Rothkin‘s play “Danny“. As a philanthropist, she has used her artistic talents to help her fellow artists in many ways; website design for various shows and non-profit organizations, performing in variety shows for a cause, donating and hosting karaoke for production fundraisers, as well as participating in The Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women’s Cancer. In her spare time she donates time to her favorite charity The Pajama Program while teaching “Thriller” to local schools.
