Planet Connection’s is one of our country’s premiere not-for-profit theater, film and music festivals. Fostering a diverse cross-section of performances, the festivity inspires artists and audiences both creatively and fundamentally, in a festive atmosphere forming a community of like-minded artists. At the heart of the festivity are individuals creating professional, meaningful theatre, film, music and art, while supporting organizations, which give back to the community at large.

Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic, dedicated workers with an interest in pursuing a career in theater. We are looking for people who are detail-oriented, independent, and able to multi-task. Office experience is a plus as many of the positions require light clerical work. Candidates should  be out-going, approachable and well-versed in the NYC theater community. Candidates should also be excellent communicators and a team-players. Please note that joining our team requires full availability for the months of June and July and flexible evening ability year round for monthly staff meetings. However, some exceptions have been made on a case by case basis.  Please include any time conflicts on your application.

We offer tickets to all Planet Connections productions, a small stipend and excellent networking opportunities.   All staff members are offered positions or PA credits at both our gala and awards ceremony. Previous staff members have worked at our gala/awards ceremony – directly with Israel Horovitz, John Patrick Shanley, Wendy MacLeod, Erik Ehn, Winter Miller, Marco Calvani, Neil LaBute, Melissa Leo, Mary Beth Hurt, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Caissie Levy, Estelle Parsons, Andrew Garman, Alex Hanna, Jolly Abraham, Jenny Seastone, Mia Rovegno, Jessi D. Hill, G.T. Upchurch, David Deblinger, and many other renowned artists. Upon completion of their contracts, Planet Connections staff members have also obtained work at The Public, Lincoln Center, Julliard, Labyrinth, The Lark, La Mama, MTC, MCC, Paradise Factory, Classic Stage, various Broadway productions, as well as a host of indie theater companies. We encourage our staff to continue working at Planet Connections while balancing other work at our partnering institutions.

You may apply for multiple positions, but please tailor your cover letters to fit each position. Applications are accepted for “assistant” positions on an ongoing basis. Team leadership candidates are accepted August-November unless specifically noted.
