Music Festival Coordinator
Candice is an arts incubator: helping connect artists through events, shows and other projects. She’s worked in theater, film, visual art, and music.
Candice came to New York in the fall of 2000 to pursue a career as a theater actor studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She worked at a theater actor for 5 years starting in 2005 and worked as an acting intern for Planet Connections Theater Festivity in 2010. Shortly afterwards, she decided to try a new career in film production working as an Associate Producer, Producer, Art Support and Asst. Director. Films and videos she has worked on have been seen at Cannes, Palm Springs Film Festival, MTV and Vh1.
Candice entered the visual art world in 2006 when she was discovered by world renowned video installation artist Tony Oursler. She performed in countless pieces for him that spanned prominent galleries and outdoor locations around the globe.
In 2012, she first had an opportunity to curate an art show at Art Basel Miami for an organization called Artists 4 Israel. Bringing in artists from around the world, she created an outdoor graffiti art installation called The Yard. Months later in NYC, she curated a solo exhibition for concert photographer Dana Distortion. In the summer of 2013, she curated an exhibition for New Yorkers Against Gun Violence. Both shows took place at Clemente Soto Velez. She now works as an artist agent for Posture Magazine in an online gallery concept called Posture Studio . She represents Pasha Setrova for that project. She also recently co-hosted a group art show called The Future is Now at 60 Orchard Gallery and co-curated a group show around the theme of erotic art called DIRTY: The Lover’s Hangover at PLAY in the Museum of Sex.
In music, Candice started working as a manager and soon began curating, promoting, and booking music events for artists at venues such as Webster Hall, The Suffolk, Pianos and Mercury Lounge. She currently curates a live music industry showcase in NYC called theBRINK which originated in October 2014 at Louie and Chan which included a CMJ showcase for select artists from DATA Touring. The event has also had residency at McCarren Hotel and now at the Donna Cocktail Club. Artists featured in the series include: Denitia Odigie, Salt Cathedral, Lex Sadler’s Rhythm and Stealth, the VeeVees, Mattie Safer, Ateller, and O mer.
She is excited to continue her music curating career with the Planet Connections Music Fest and truly explore and celebrate the full scope and diversity in as many genres of music as possible.
